SGA Producer Spotlight: Bruce Humes, Aquila Productions Due to the overwhelming success of our first Producer Spotlight featuring Steve Oliker and Oligopoly Productions, we’ve extended the idea. This edition of Sightlines we feature Bruce Humes, Producer at Aquila Productions. SGA has worked with or quoted over 50 jobs for Aquila - this is AQU051. If you’d like to contact producer Bruce Humes, or Aquila’s President Adrian Selby, please visit www.AquilaProductions.com. (Salt Lake City, Utah) For this year’s Subaru National Business Conference our clients at Subaru wanted to connect with the audience on a personal, emotional level. Most of the content delivered at the meeting was about committing to the Subaru franchise and finding passion for the brand. The core message for the meeting drove a set design that would place the presenters up close and personal with the audience. Our design incorporated a horse shoe shape, tiered riser system for an audience of 1,100 and a two level thrust stage that could accommodate six vehicles. Once we had that design, we knew that only SGA had the equipment and experience necessary to execute the show. Working with our sales representative Keith Menne we presented an initial design to our Subaru clients that fulfilled their desires for their meeting setting. Keith helped to work through last minute changes and secured our preferred SGA crew, led by Corey Ploetz. The SGA on site crew was very efficient and meticulous in the installation of a very large setup. Everyone at Subaru and the venue (the Salt Palace Convention Center) were very impressed with the set. The set delivered the intimate environment that supported our client’s message. Our contact at the venue had proposed that we use their bleacher system, but when they saw the SGA setup they were blown away and realized that there was no way they could have delivered the same experience. In fact, the venue had their entire sales team come in and look at what Aquila and SGA had done together. In producing corporate events there are a lot of choices for vendors and certain gear is pretty fungible. But when it comes to large tiered audience riser systems, SGA is truly the only choice. - Bruce Humes, Aquila Productions
