About the SGA CAD Department
When you request a stage or riser quotation from SGA you get much more than a page full of numbers. Every SGA riser quote comes with a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawing showing a schematic of your stage or riser complete with a parts list, accurate dimensions, and seating capacity. This way, you know exactly what you’re paying for. More importantly, the drawing becomes an integral part of the design process. Some people have very specific ideas about what they want. Others have a seating capacity or configuration in mind but need some help determining what will do the best job. Either way, a CAD drawing helps us work with you to ensure that we arrive at the best possible design solution.
Let’s talk a minute about the advantages of three-dimensional drawings. Our CAD system gives us the ability to build a complete 3-D model of your event inside our computer. Once built, it can be viewed from any angle or perspective, from bird’s eye to fish eye. We can show you views from the best seat in the house or the worst. Will the chandelier obstruct the view of the video projection screens from the last row? We can tell you. We also have a constantly growing library of 3-D models of convention centers, arenas and ballrooms from across the country.
You may be convinced that audience risers are perfect for your event, but the person footing the bill might not even know what they are. How many times have you rolled out your latest blueprint only to see your client’s eyes cloud over as they try to make the leap from fuzzy blue lines to the wonderful (but complex) event you’re trying to describe. You’ll be amazed at the impact an SGA 3-D CAD drawing can have on a sales presentation. They’re big and colorful, and they show all your carefully planned details in 3-D perspective. We can even put your or your client’s logo right on the drawing.
Our experience has shown that the most important thing in pulling off a successful event is communication. The old chestnut, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” has never been more true. Only this time you might say, “an SGA CAD drawing is worth a thousand hours of redundant efforts, redesigns, and last-minute production change orders.” Our production crews use our CAD drawings to prepare the equipment, load the trucks, and direct labor onsite. When everyone works with the same information, production snafus are more easily avoided.
If you would like to know more about what our CAD services can do for your next event, or if you would like to see sample drawings, give your salesperson a call, or call me here at the Lansing office at 1-877-676-7006.
