(Oxford, Mississippi) As consulting producers for the First Presidential Debate at the University of Mississippi, EventWorks, Inc. was responsible for integrating technology and creative design for several debate related projects.

One of the challenges EventWorks faced was finding a suitable location and design for the outdoor media stand-up risers.  Once the lighting design was complete and sightlines were chosen to maximize the backdrop for the media, we made the call to SGA and Matt Brocker to design and fabricate a riser system that would accommodate broadcasters’ needs with ease of accessibility. 

The biggest hurdle, however, was how to erect an extended media riser system on an extended sloped elevation. With the SGA design team, a plan was drawn up that proved an SGA riser system can be built almost anywhere.

Even as compulsory changes in design were made by the Commission on Presidential Debates, SGA was responsive, submitting new drawings almost immediately.  The result was a multi-tiered riser system that provided maximum safety with maximum loading.
